Super Super Sounds Gorgeous, challenging and weird, Tronc is the sound of Evelyn taking Pikelet to the next level (and beyond!). The Neighbour's Glass perfectly blends LISTEN politics and some rad avant electro into my song of the year. Respect! Favorite track: The Neighbour's Grass.

Peter Hollo Pikelet has been one of my favourite Aussie artists for yonks, but I still find myself surprised and delighted at how varied & wonderful this new album is. Favorite track: Harder Heart, Harder.

Tim Shiel Essential listening from one of Melbourne's most unique and uncompromising musical minds. Favorite track: Dear Unimaginables.

about

Melbourne exploratory art-synth performer Pikelet returns with album-length recording Tronc, to be released on cassette and digital by Chapter Music on Friday May 6.

Over the years Pikelet has gone through numerous permutations, all centred around the indomitable Evelyn Morris, now recognised as one of the most adventurous and compelling voices in Melbourne music.

Tronc follows on from full-band efforts Calluses (2013) and Stem (2010) but sees a return to the solo format of early Pikelet recordings, with each of the tape’s eight songs recorded and performed by Evelyn at home.
